Faheem Story

Faheem ur Rehman

Batch-26th

I reminisce, it was September 1990; when I got PSTC admission form followed by a written and an aptitude test and was lucky enough to be selected from 1500 students. I was enthusiastic to join this noted institution unaware of the challenges which were waiting for me as a novice trainee.

The first and foremost one was the ragging! ‘Measuring a fifteen feet wall’ with a tiny matchstick, ‘Towel Dance’ for seniors seemed to be as ridiculous as a wig on the head of Apollo! Life seemed hell lot difficult and I really cried to my dad, ‘HAYAY ABBA JAY……….KITHAY PHASSAYA JAY!’

Honestly speaking this ragging was a blessing in disguise, which helped us juniors; to develop a lifelong bond with our seniors that turned out to be a new journey of learning.Four long years of training lasted in a wink of an eye with an exciting world class training which is still rare in all vocational institutions of country.

Finally I entered the practical life which is truly a dream of every student. Since then, I have performed different roles from production, maintenance, service industry to the manufacturing and industrial consultant. I have been associated with Hino Pak, Philips Whirlpool, Unilever Pakistan, and TPL Trakker during my twenty-three years of professional life. I embarked upon entrepreneurship career in Aluminum Pressure Die Casting four years ago and doing well so far.Shukar Alhamdulillah, I have travelled many countries, gained national and international training in diverse fields of engineering. However base remains the same that is PSTC my Alma meter!

Last but not least, not recognizing my mentor Tufail Ahmed Bukhari’s efforts for this institution and me as an individual would be unjust on my part. He was a real gem of a person and a professional who made PSTC what it is today! The confidence, support and appreciation I earned here will cherish me throughout my life.
